Scottrade Center and Peabody Opera House will be holding a job fair for part-time event staff positions for the upcoming season at Peabody Opera House and the St. Louis Blues 2012/2013 hockey season on June 26 and June 28 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Attendees may enter at the main atrium entrance (Box Office) at Scottrade Center located at 14th Street & Clark Avenue.
Peabody Opera House and Scottrade Center offer unique experiences for part-time, event-based employment for qualified applicants. Positions available in either location include Guest Service Host, Student Host, and Security.

TIME POSITIONS
Scottrade
Center offers a number of part-time event related positions
such as box office, retail, ushers and security.
For a commitment of only one or two days a week you can be
an integral part of the action of the variety of events that
take place at Scottrade Center. Our part-time positions offer
great pay and flexible schedules for service oriented individuals.

GUEST SERVICES HOST
If you know what world-class service is and think you have right skills, knowledge and abilities to improve the experience of each person you come into contact with then the Guest Service Department may be for you. Please note that these are part-time, event related, union positions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Politely greet, escort and/or direct guests to correct seat.
- Scan, tear and count tickets at the turnstiles and keep lines moving in an orderly manner.
- Provide information, assistance and give directions to guests.
- Resolve basic seat discrepancies, relocations and disabled guest requests.
- Monitor section for rule compliance, (i.e. smoking, drug use and unruly behavior). Visually monitors for contraband and informs guests of their options.
- Picks up large trash in aisles and maintains a clean and safe work environment.
Qualifications
- Ability to lift or carry up to 25 pounds or push Guests in a wheelchair.
- Ability to stand during an entire event in a cold arena.
- Ability and willing to handle tough, high-pressure situations while remaining calm and professional
- Must be available to work 70% of events in the building

GUEST SERVICES SECURITY
If you know what world-class service is and think you have right skills, knowledge and abilities to improve the experience of each person you come into contact with then the Guest Service Department may be for you. Please note that these are part-time, event related, union positions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Our trained and professional Guest Security staff is responsible for making sure each and every Guest who enters the facility is safe and can enjoy the entertainment offered without incident. Our security staff must be focused on the details of the event, know our building and safety rules, and be actively looking for Guests who may need assistance. Guest Security handles crowd management and quickly responds and politely resolves seating discrepancies clears aisles and settles disputes in a discreet manner so other Guests are not disturbed.
Qualifications
The right candidate is outgoing, polite, friendly, and detail oriented. He/She is willing and able to actively engage people in tough, high-pressure situations while remaining calm and professional. Previous customer service experience is required. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age and able to obtain an unarmed security license from St. Louis City/County. Please note this license requires an FBI background check and two-day class. You must be able to stand during an entire event in a cold arena. Sometimes Guest Security are required to set up/take down chairs (must be able to life/carry up to 25 pounds) or push Guests in a wheelchair. Guest Security usually work evenings and weekends and must be available to work 70% of the events in the building.

CONCIERGE
Ensure that guests receive highest quality of guest service during events by performing the following duties. Please note that these are part-time, event positions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work at variety of assigned posts, including Administrative Will Call, Concierge Desk, Blue Note Lounge, Suite Runner, and other positions as needed.
- Greet suite and club seat guests at each event and direct to suites or seats as needed; learn names of repeat guests and address personally and professionally.
- Control access to private levels of building by checking tickets and/or passes.
- Run any necessary errands on suite levels, including delivering tickets, placing programs or promotional items in suites and other duties as directed.
- Coordinate special services as requested during events by suite and club seat guests, including securing limousines or taxis, delivering items to suites, making reservations and other services within reason as requested.
- Provide general assistance to suite holders and club seat holders during events to ensure highest possible level of service.
- Report any necessary cleaning or repairs in suites or suite levels to Premium Services Supervisor/Coordinator on duty.
- Maintain Guest Service, Team Member and Appearance standards.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Candidates must possess previous customer service experience. Must possess high level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others in a professional and courteous manner. Strong oral and listening communication skills. Ability to work under pressure, proactively recognize problems and find solutions. Ability to work in a fast paced environment. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time. Candidates must also be able to lift/carry no more than 25 pounds at a time.

RETAIL SERVICE SUPERVISOR
The Merchandise Department seeks qualified applicants for the position of Retail Service Supervisor.
Responsibilities include supervision of the retail service staff, daily balancing and sales reconciliation’s
of merchandise and evening reports. Other responsibilities include conducting Team Member
training, assisting in general event operations, and ensuring that Guest Service, Team Member
and Appearance Standards are maintained.
Candidates must have a strong math background, possess strong leadership skills,
willingness to work long irregular hours and have a thorough knowledge of the facility.

RETAIL SERVICE HOST
Summary:
Retail Service Hosts have the opportunity to work at various events. Regardless of the event type the mission is the same: make every Guest feel special and help them purchase that perfect souvenir. Responsibilities include operating a point-of-sale system (POS register), cash handling, stocking, inventory and light cleaning. Retail Service Hosts also have the opportunity to help guests by answering questions, providing information and assisting with special requests.
Qualifications:
- Desired candidates are friendly, polite, fast working and detail oriented team player.
- Must be willing work in a close, fast-paced environment
- Communicate respectfully and politely to Guests and other members of the team.
- Must be able to quickly and accurately make change and operate a register.
- Register or computer experience required.
- Must be able to stand during an entire event.
- Be able lift/carry 50 pounds during a shift.
- Must be available to work afternoon, evenings, nights and weekends as required by schedule
- Must be available to work 75% of the events scheduled building events each month

GUEST SERVICES STUDENT HOST
Summary

Applications are being accepted for the High School Student Employment Program at the Scottrade Center and the Peabody Opera House.
Requirements:
- Students must be high school juniors or seniors in the fall of 2012.
- Students must be at least 16 years of age upon their start date.
- Students must have and maintain a cumulative "B" grade point average.
- Students must provide two letters of recommendation at their interview.
- Student must provide an official copy of his/her most up-to-date high school transcript at the interview (Downloads from school district web sites will not be accepted.)
- Student must be available to work 50% of Scottrade Center or Peabody Opera House’s events each month.
- Most shifts will start at 5:30 p.m.
- Students must meet Scottrade Center or Peabody Opera House’s appearance and employment standards.
Important Information:
- Multiple applications will not increase your chance of being selected for interview.
- Interviews will be conducted during June and July.
- Phones calls to the HR department to check on the status of your application will not be returned.
- Students without transcripts and letters of recommendation will not be interviewed.
- New hire orientation and training will be scheduled in July and August.
- Employees will be hired by the Scottrade Center or the Peabody Opera House.
- Employees can not be employed at both venues.
