ATTENTION:
Guests attending performances of the Gaither Homecoming
Tour at Scottrade Center on Friday, Dec. 7, should expect
delays and are encouraged to plan ahead to avoid any possible
congestion associated with the planned construction on I-64
this weekend.
On Friday, Dec.
7 until Monday, Dec. 10, I-64 will be closed in both directions
at Kingshighway Boulevard for the demolition of the Kingshighway

to go up temporary exit ramps, cross over Kingshighway,
and re-enter I-64 on temporary entrance ramps. Major congestion
is expected in this area, and guests are encouraged to consider
alternative routes when making their way to the Gaither
Homecoming Tour this Friday.

Homecoming concerts have
united fans world wide, year after year, with the classic
and timely Gospel sounds of the Gaither phenomenon. “However
it actually started with an impromptu taping in a Nashville
studio in 1991,” says Bill Gaither. “The Gaither
Vocal Band was wrapping up a recording session that included
several legendary Southern Gospel music artists. After the
session ended, the artists lingered and gathered around
the piano, singing, swapping stories from the old days and
sharing a few laughs and tears.”
More than a decade later,
Gaither never envisioned that recording session in 1991
would turn into a touring empire. And, year after year,
both music industry publications have consistently ranked
the Gaither Homecoming Tour at the top of their lists for
most concerts tickets sold worldwide in any music genre.
In a tour produced by AEG
LIVE, audiences can look forward to an evening of music
and celebration. Gaither explains, “The “Give
It Away” Homecoming Tour is an opportunity for us
to “throw our hearts wide open” and share the
things that are best enjoyed when we give them away, like
faith, friendship and music.”
Gaither joins a cavalcade
of singers, musicians and comedians, whose collective talents
have been honored with countless awards, including Grammy’s,
Doves, ASCAP’s first-ever Songwriter of the Century Award
and most recently, The NARAS Presidentâs Merit Award
and multiple 2005 Dove Award nominations. Joining Gaither
are the Gaither Vocal Band; Ernie Haase & Signature
Sound; Jeff & Sheri Easter; Lynda Randle; Ivan Parker;
The Isaacs; Mike Allen & Ben Speer (all artists subject
to change).
