Marketing Community Relations Intern (part-time temporary unpaid position)

Assists with marketing, public relations and promotional activities for Scottrade Centers various family shows and no-team sporting events; helps to generate publicity ideas for these events; drafting correspondence, press releases and media advisories; assists with early morning publicity shoots and other publicity events, grassroots marketing campaigns and general administrative duties. This position does not include involvement with St. Louis Blues hockey. College junior or senior.
Marketing Manager (full-time position)

Works with the Marketing Director in the development, writing and implementation of comprehensive marketing plans for events, including budget recommendations, media research, coordination of promotions and follow-up with media and promotional partners. Position requires coordinating promotional ticket and discount information with Box Office and executing all aspects of trade advertising, including sending trade letters and agreements, writing trade summaries, distributing ad materials and tickets, and gathering proofs of performance.
The Marketing Manager will also write radio and television scripts/tags and design print ads, flyers and coupons; coordinate all day-of-event promotional activities and logistics with Marketing, Box Office, Guest Services, Building Operations and Food and Beverage as appropriate; and monitor advertising schedules and third party tie-ins to ensure all advertising runs as planned and all promotions are executed as anticipated.
The qualified candidate must have a Bachelors degree and one year specific experience in the development of marketing plans, including media buying and event promotion, demonstrate outstanding writing skills, and be proficient in juggling multiple tasks and deadlines. Must be outgoing with a dynamic personality and analytical skills. Must have the ability to initiate contact with media partners and promoters. Strong working knowledge of Windows 95, Microsoft Word 7.0, Excel 7.0 and PageMaker or Photoshop required. Must be able to work long irregular hours. This position does not include involvement with St. Louis Blues Hockey.
Marketing Programs Intern (part-time position)

Works directly with the Marketing Programs Manager coordinating all elements of program planning, implementation and follow through of the St. Louis Blues marketing programs, as well as the preparation and execution of in-game entertainment promotions and activities. The position is available immediately and will continue until January 1, 2007. Requires 3-4 days in the office with a total of 20 – 25 hours a week and also includes all St. Louis Blues home games and all off-site promotional events, which may include nights and weekends. This is a two-part internship with office time and Game nights. Although the internship is a non-paid position, the game nights will pay $40 per game. The internship as a whole will give the candidate invaluable; hands-on sports marketing and event presentation experience.
Duties of the internship consist of, but are not limited to:
Blues personalized License Plate Program
Process all incoming orders and coordinate financials with accounting department
Maintain contact with State of Missouri for all paperwork needs
Assist Marketing Programs Manager in the development & implementation of the program
Cool Bars Tour
Work directly with Fan Services Manager on the preparation of all events.
Attend all events, directing the format and flow of the event and coordinating staff (8-10 events spread across the season
Post event clean up and assessment of all events
Blue Note Bus Express
Assist Manager with the preparation of all paperwork and scheduling of the Tour
Assist travel agent with the preparation of client paperwork and documentation
Coordinate all of the individual bus requirements and participant ticketing needs
Serve as the direct liaison of the event and all necessary components
Junior Blue Note Club
Assist Manager with the preparation of all paperwork for the members
Assist on the Jr. Blue Note Club nights at Blues home games
Manage the clubs database
St. Louis Blues Home Games
Attend all St. Louis Blues home games
Prepare the evenings pre-event, intermission and post game activities and documents
Serve as the Promotions Coordinator during games
Maintain and prepare all in-game props and intermission supplies
Blue Crew
Help facilitate Blue Crew activities during all Blues homes games
Scheduling and implementation of the tryouts, including registration and selection
Scheduling of the Blue crew Orientation and training periods
Coordinating the ordering process of the uniforms and props of the Blue Crew
Fan Van – Caravan
Assist the Manager of Fan Services with the coordinating of all fairs, carnivals and Caravan
Applicant must have excellent time management skills. Must be 21 years or older (to attend bar program). Must have a very strong initiative and have the ability to work on projects w/o supervision.
Marketing Secretary (full-time position)

Provides complete administrative support for the Vice President of Marketing and other members of the Marketing Department. Must have the ability to retrieve/distribute telephone messages and facsimiles. Responsible for gathering and reviewing specified newspapers for Scottrade Center articles; copy, distribute and maintain log of all clippings. Prepares purchase orders; develops and maintains log-in and tracking system, assists in production of coupons and flyers and keeps all brochure racks throughout Scottrade Center stocked.
The selected candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work with a wide variety of people, be proficient in juggling multiple tasks and deadlines and ability to work events as needed. Must have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access. PageMaker preferred but not required.
Publicity Manager (full-time position)

The selected candidate will manage the public relations efforts to promote Scottrade Center and its events, and oversee all community relation activities. The Publicity Manager generates publicity for events in local print and broadcast media, via press releases, feature story pitches, media drops and publicity events, coordinates all live and taped media coverage with building operations and local union representatives. Responsibilities include development of comprehensive publicity plans for events, pitching story ideas related to Scottrade Center and its various events, arranging and staffing press conferences and other special media events, maintaining comprehensive and up-to-date media lists including local, national and trade publication media. The selected candidate will write and pro-actively place press releases for all newsworthy events, handle incoming media requests for information and/or interviews, channeling to Sr. Director of Marketing and Public Relations. Candidate must have strong written and oral communication skills and demonstrate strong organizational skills. Candidate must also have the ability to multi-task in a high-pressure fast-paced environment. Bachelors Degree is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is a must.
Sponsorship Sales (full-time position)

Responsibilities include identifying and prospecting sponsorship candidates, including aggressive cold-calling; creating and selling sponsorship packages including arena signage, promotions (game night and retail), and Blues print, radio and website advertising; and servicing and renewing existing partners. Position also participates in sponsor entertainment and assists with execution for promotional elements of sponsorship programs, including game night activities. Reports to Senior Director of Corporate Sponsorship and is part of a four-person sponsorship team.
Candidates must have college degree and 5+ years of specific sponsorship sales experience, preferably in sports, with proven and verifiable track record of personal results. Creative thinking, strong initiative, superb written and verbal presentation skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are critical in order to achieve aggressive annual revenue goals. This is NOT an entry-level sponsorship position.
